This is a hands-on role that combines programme coordination, practitioner wellbeing & safeguarding, partnership liaison, creative producing and programme evaluation to ensure the residencies are delivered ethically, sustainably and with communities at the centre of activity.

Closing date: Midnight Sunday 31st May

Interview date: wb 8th June

Fixed term. 18 month contract. Starting salary of £33k per annum.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Collaborating with and reporting to the Artistic Directors, the Project Coordinator will lead day-to-day delivery of the National Residency Network and ensure strong pastoral, safeguarding and professional support for creative practitioners. You will work closely with community connectors, local partners, the Programme Advisory Group and Wonder Fools’ Board to keep the programme on track, sensitively managed and accountable to communities.

This is a hands-on leadership role where your operational skill, care for people and appetite for bold, just practice will directly shape lasting change.

We also welcome applications from job-share pairs and from individual candidates who would be open to job-sharing – please state in your application whether you’re applying as a job-share pair or as an individual open to job-sharing. If you are interested in job-sharing, please let us know your preferred working pattern or number of days per week you would ideally like to work.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead operational delivery of the National Residency Network (1.0 FTE) across multiple locations.
  • Provide direct practitioner support: regular 1:1 pastoral check-ins, workload monitoring, burnout-prevention measures and optional reflective supervision.
  • Lead safeguarding for the programme: maintain clear pathways, escalation routes and training for practitioners and partners.
  • Coordinate programme evaluation and outcomes-led learning (including practitioner feedback, case studies and external evaluator liaison).
  • Manage carbon tracking and environmental sustainability reporting in line with programme commitments.
  • Act as the primary liaison with partners (local authorities, third-sector organisations and programme partners).
  • Oversee logistics for cross-residency connection and learning activities (digital gatherings, visits, Residency Charter development).

The Coordinator will collaborate with artists, communities and partners to support the development and production of public outcomes emerging from the residencies, which may include performances, public art, exhibitions and other community-led presentations shaped through the process. They will also act as a bridge between the National Residency Network and PSFNT, our award-winning new writing and youth engagement programme, ensuring opportunities for shared learning, collaboration and participation across both strands of work.
