Hours: 6 days at £100
Wonder Fools theatre company are looking for five young people (aged 16-25) in Dumfries and Galloway to become apprentices and work with us on the creation of a brand new theatre production in March 2025. Gain hands-on paid experience in the following areas:
- Theatre-making (directing and writing)
- Lighting design
- Stage management
- Set and costume design
- Composition and sound design
- Movement direction
Apprentices will gain the following:
- Paid work experience
- Mentorship from established professionals
- Opportunity to develop new skills
- Bespoke support from Wonder Fools
Ideal young people or anyone with an interest in the arts and with a desire to learn more about potential jobs in the creative industries. No prior experience is necessary, just enthusiasm and commitment.
Key dates are Monday 24th February (first day of rehearsals) and week beginning 17th March (production week) at Theatre Royal Dumfries. Wonder Fools would work with schools, colleges and employers where appropriate and be flexible and responsive to young people’s individual commitments. Young people based outside of Dumfries will receive travel expenses to remove geographical barriers if based elsewhere in D&G.
